For the little ones, the right choice is a toy robot dog: cheap, safe and designed to entertain and stimulate. They range from a few tens of euros to about €100 depending on features. The best models offer:

- Educational and programmable functions (useful to introduce children to coding)

The most common mistake is confusing the two categories because of the name. If you are looking for a present for a child, a €1,500 quadruped is excessive and fragile for that use.
