Humanoid robot for the home: what NEO and G1 offer
An individual buyer can find a preorder route for 1X NEO and a commercial listing for Unitree G1. These are not equivalent household appliances or services guaranteeing every chore without human involvement. As of 18 October 2026, the official sources distinguish an early-access home product from a platform whose versions offer different development possibilities.
For a home in Italy, the first check is the destination and delivery of the exact configuration. An order button, demonstration or announced date does not prove immediate availability at your address. This is a documentary comparison: ROBOLERO has not tested either robot.

Preorders, countries and delivery: what is established
1X presents a home offering and distinguishes Early Access ownership from a subscription. However, its preorder terms say the deposit puts you on a waitlist; they do not establish when an invitation to purchase will arrive. The official announcement describes deliveries primarily in the United States in 2026 and expansion to other markets from 2027. These are the manufacturer's plans, not confirmation of delivery in Italy or to every American customer.
Unitree's store lists G1 and directs EDU buyers to sales; delivery details are available on request. We do not interpret a shopping cart as immediate availability. An individual buyer in Italy needs written confirmation of destination, version and the support applicable to that purchase.
Compare the cost of the delivered configuration: robot, accessories, transport, applicable taxes, any recurring service and maintenance. Compare quotations updated for the same date and destination; a currency conversion alone does not describe what you will pay to receive the robot.
Autonomy: a demonstration does not guarantee a chore
1X describes basic autonomy for early owners. For tasks NEO does not know, it provides scheduled sessions during which an expert can supervise it remotely. A promise of learning new skills does not establish that every activity shown already works autonomously in your home.
For G1, the store says the standard version does not support secondary development and directs customization requests to EDU. The technical page distinguishes G1 from G1 EDU and warns that some demonstrated functions are still in development. Walking, performing a commanded sequence and learning a new household task are different capabilities.
Before buying, request a demonstration of the task you need: objects initially out of place, obstacles, mistakes and recovery, and the operator's involvement. We do not assign cooking, bathroom cleaning, personal care or lifting people to these robots on the strength of videos or stated payloads. Unitree expressly recommends maintaining a safe distance from people.
Remote assistance and privacy: practical questions
An assisted session differs from autonomous execution. Ask who can connect, what consent is required, how to interrupt a session and which images or sounds become accessible. Also check retention, use for training and what works without a connection.
The general 1X privacy policy consulted describes its website and interactions with the company. Alone, it does not establish every operating condition of cameras in a home. We therefore do not turn promises about blurring or excluded areas into unverified guarantees. You need the product and service terms applicable to your own order.
How to decide without buying a promise
If you want help with a chore, first define the result and the amount of human involvement you accept. If you want an experimental platform, check the version, tools and skills required. In either case, retain the quotation and conditions, including support, spare parts and error handling.
NEO deserves consideration for its home-focused design, accepting preorder and service uncertainties. Assess G1 against the configuration and specific project, without attributing ready-made household functions to it. If those questions remain unresolved, waiting for further evidence is reasonable.
