Unitree G1 in the America's Got Talent final: performances on the 22nd, verdict on the 23rd

Dancer Yufei Wu's routine with eight Unitree G1 humanoids has reached the final of season 21 of America's Got Talent. According to the account published on September 18 by The Music Man, the audition to Lady Gaga's "Abracadabra" passed 5.8 million views, and the return in the quarter-finals on September 8, with martial arts and human dancers, drew over 1 million views and Sofía Vergara's Golden Buzzer; before awarding it she had called them "a little scary". The final airs on September 22 (performances) and September 23 (results). That the robots are G1s was confirmed by Unitree to the Global Times in June.

Why it matters for buyers: the G1 is the same humanoid that costs $13,500 on the Unitree store, taxes and shipping excluded (shipping $300–1,200), currently on backorder. The choreography is a prepared, rehearsed routine, not a demonstration of autonomy: anyone buying one to make it dance in the living room must budget for programming or teleoperation, and the base version does not support software development, which is reserved for the Edu.

Nanning: ten middle schools play football, all with the Booster K1

In Nanning, Guangxi, the first Humanoid Robot Soccer Carnival for middle schools has kicked off, LaPresse reports on September 18. The format is fully autonomous 3-on-3: the robots recognise the ball and their opponents on their own, with no remote control. All the teams use the same humanoid, the Booster K1, and over 40 competitors from ten schools took the field.

Why it matters for buyers: the K1 is one of the few small humanoids with CE marking that a private buyer or a European school can order from a reseller: at Génération Robots it starts at €9,000 including VAT (€7,500 excluding), but as of September 18 it shows as sold out. A standard platform adopted in school tournaments means software, tutorials and a growing community; before paying, ask about delivery times.

Beijing: the Tiangong dance with professional dancers at 798

At the second Beijing Art and Technology Week, in Beijing's 798 Art Zone, the Chinese Tiangong humanoids performed in sync with professional dancers, Sky TG24 reports on September 18: an experiment that uses the precision of the robots' movements inside a human choreography.

Why it matters for buyers: it is a stage robot, not a catalogue one. The video says nothing about price, availability or what the robot can do without a director; for anyone looking for a humanoid to take home, what remains are the small models already on sale, like the G1 and the K1 above.
